In Honor of Mother's Day "Remembering Love"

Remembering Love
When we were new born
Love was warmth inside and out
a full tummy and strong comforting arms.

When we could see
Love was all these things and
a smiling, approving face
that delighted in our every effort.

When we could walk
Love was all these things and
hands helping us stay steady
as we ventured farther into the world.

When we could go about on our own
Love was all these things and
soothing words that encouraged us
through our fear and failures
our triumphs and successes.

When we left home
Love that was all these things
journeyed with us in our heart’s
memory and longed to be shared.

But for some
who have never been shown warmth
been the object of delight and pride
felt steadied by a strong dependable hand
or encouraged to overcome fear and failure
there is the love offered by God and
Christ Jesus, and that Love
abides in you.

Practice love that warms,
delights, steadies and encourages.
Cultivate that love in others.
